Experience
I'm a current student at Temple University, where I'm about to earn my B.A. in History, concentrating on Imperialism and U.S. History. In my last year of high school, I tutored Navajo youth in AZ and also worked with teachers to run after-school programming. While at George Washington University (prior to Temple University), I worked with Kid Power Inc. instructing youth in elementary school and middle school. I've also tutored students at the undergraduate and high school levels. My tutoring expertise is based in History (U.S., Constitutional, African, African-American, Latin-American, etc.), Social Studies, Geography, and U.S. and World Literature, to name a few. I've also helped students with reading, writing, essay skills, and test prep for AP exams. When I teach history, I like to address students' interests and keep the material relatable. I do this by emphasizing historical figures, chronicles, important happenings, and primary sources. Teaching isn't about spewing facts and figures; it's about working with a student's capacities, and pushing them to grow. I love to play guitar, read (fiction, historical books), watch classic movies, play board games, and listen to music.
